Freedom Requires Ending Privatization of the Earth
November 4th, 2006

“End the privatization of the Earth and her resources,” and make the ownership of these, as well as the things of human creation, commonly held for the benefit of all.
The private ownership of the Earth and its resources, spells disaster for much of the rest of life on the planet, human and other, and, worse than this, if that’s possible, is the continuation of the conditions wherein much of the human population can and may be eliminated to serve the purpose of those in power.
In short, private ownership must be ended, and life on the planet be dedicated to the good of all, by all, and for all.
Without this formal and universal declaration and dedication, humanity will have no guarantee that human life and human rights will be maintained and protected.
Let it be!

Yes.
And, how is anything ever owned? How is it done? How has it been done?
I like owning my own tools. They are an extension of my body, allowing me to do more than I could without them. I bought them with proceeds from my labor. They allow me to do other valuable labor.
When my tools have been stolen I cannot do as much valuable labor. I have to spend part of my time keeping, or owning, them. If I catch someone stealing them, what choices do I have? Many, of course. I can donate myself to predators or I can decide to try not to.
Do you have any idea how large and varied are the weapons industries on our planet? Why have they been built and maintained during all of recorded history, or as the opening of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey suggests, a bit longer than that?
I have heard of communal and co-operative communities that have functioned well. It is a good idea. Meanwhile I have grown up in the rat race and I am exhausted. I will vote Green as much as possible.
Thanks for your inspiration.
