Free Thinking
September 23rd, 2006

Once upon a time, rage lived in my heart —
Craving revenge for crimes against women,
Crimes against children,
Crimes against Earth,
Crimes against me.
I used to think, “Man, you violate and hate,
You conquer Beauty,
Use it up, discard the carcass,
Then find a new Trophy Queen.”
I used to think “man” you’re the problem,
And with that thought, I kept my distance,
And my love.
Now, softness lives where rage once ruled,
I see that people who hate are frightened,
People who dominate are hurt.
Conditioned by pain and confused about power,
We ALL made this world,
And we are free to make it again.
Now is the historic moment to travel a new road,
Free from the dance of destruction,
Free from the game of us and them.
We can choose to liberate our thinking,
And break the illusion,
That hate can create peace.
If we choose well,
It will make US free.
